Our Story
Jackson Schanz started Code Questers because he saw how often kids are taught to code in ways that feel rigid, overwhelming, or impersonal.
While working at a popular code tutoring company, he noticed they often spread tutors across several children at once, meaning parents weren’t really getting the full value of what they paid for. He believes that 100% of a parent’s investment should go toward 100% of their own child’s learning.
That’s why Code Questers is built around personalized, one-on-one guidance where every lesson is an adventure, every project builds real coding skills, and every student is treated like the hero of their own quest. By combining game creation with problem-solving and creativity, we help kids build confidence, resilience, and skills they’ll carry far beyond the screen.
Skills We Teach
At Code Questers, students learn real coding skills while creating their own games.
We start with the fundamentals; sequencing, logic, variables, loops, functions, and events; giving kids the building blocks of programming in a way that feels natural and engaging.
From there, they explore core game development concepts like sprite design, animation, physics, movement, level building, and user interface design, all while learning how to playtest and improve their projects.
As students advance, we introduce them to Unity and C# scripting, where they gain hands-on experience with 3D objects, prefabs, modular design, and professional workflows like scriptable objects and event-driven systems.
Through every step, the focus is on more than just making games — it’s about developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence that will serve them well in school, careers, and life.
